Behind Bars

The cold, gray walls confine you. Time crawls. Each day feels the last: a monotonous cycle punctuated by rations and guard rounds. Communication with the outside society is severely curtailed. Hope becomes your constant companion. You search for purpose in this isolated existence.

You try to hold onto sanity. There are flickers of humanity: a kind guard, a passing conversation with another inmate, the occasional kindness of a family member. But these moments are fleeting, quickly swallowed by the unforgiving reality of serving your time.

The weight of your choices presses on you. Forgiveness feel like distant, elusive fantasies. You contemplate if you'll ever truly break free, not just from the bars, but from the psychological confines that enfold you within.

The Weight of Conviction and Consequence

A crushing weight prison settles upon them/her/him, a suffocating blanket woven from the threads of mute desires. The only company they have is the echoes/ghostly whispers/silent screams of their own thoughts/memories/yearnings.

Walls Have Ears

If one think the construction can conceal secrets, consider again. Walls, such as those other items, are capable of observing. Ancient stories warn people that walls have ears, and despite this may seem like a legend, the fact is surprising.

  • Even, walls themselves can hold the memories of former events.

The Weight of Innocence Lost
